Britain’s Got Talent 2022: First look at judges and return of golden buzzer as auditions get underway

Britain’s Got Talent is back, and judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams have already started the audition process.

Auditions are underway for the annual series following a break last year due to the Covid pandemic, and viewers can expect to see the return of the dreaded red button and the coveted golden buzzer very soon.

The show’s official account posted a group shot of the BGT gang sitting down and smiling for the cameras at the London Palladium.

Alongside the picture, the caption read: ‘Ahhh, look how gorgeous our Judges look!’

Long-serving presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were in good spirits and joined the judges in a group picture which was later uploaded to Instagram.

It was recently reported that Simon, 62, will remain a judge on the popular programme until 2025.

The music mogul was notably absent from the live shows in 2020 due to a back injury he suffered while in California.

Diversity star Ashley Banjo replaced him on the panel, as well as the Christmas special that followed afterwards.

Auditions for BGT usually take place in January and February, with the process airing on ITV in April before the live shows start in May.

In 2020, hopefuls were able to perform for the judges as normal, but the shows were replaced with pre-recorded ones in September and October as the pandemic made it impossible to film.

Comedian and musician Jon Courtenay was crowned the winner of the most recent series.

Britiain’s Got Talent is notoriously known for embracing the weird and the wonderful so fans know by now to expect the unexpected.

Britain’s Got Talent airs later this year on ITV.
