On Britain’s Got Talent, Simon Cowell was the victim of a Mr Blobby prank.
Under false pretences, the children’s show character dragged the judge onto the stage.
He then persuaded the 63-year-old to climb inside a large box so he could perform a magic trick on him.
Mr Blobby continued shutting and opening the box door once he was inside, seeming perplexed as to why his technique wasn’t working.
Simon appeared to becoming increasingly agitated with the behaviour.
However, it was all a mental game. Mr Blobby instead sprayed pink gunge all over Simon, much to the delight of his colleagues judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli, as well as broadcasters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.
Viewers of the show reacted to the comedic moment on Twitter.
One person credited him with saving the show: ‘Was just thinking how boring Britain’s Got Talent is when mr blobby suddenly appears and covered simon cowell in pink go.’
‘My Blobby is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen,’ added another.
A third viewer said they’d ‘never laughed so much in my life’ and called the scene ‘absolute chaos.’
Other people added that they were ‘howling.’

Mr Blobby. What can I say? Never laughed so much in my life. Drenching Simon Cowell in slime and causing absolute chaos. Classic Blobby. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent

Elsewhere on the night, Simon received a nasty joke from 11-year-old Harrison, who auditioned with Boycanto, a group of boys seeking to encourage others to perform.
Amanda asked the group: ‘If you won, what would mean more to you, performing in front of King Charles or winning £250,000?’
Harrison’s remark was nice, despite the fact that he was clearly not interested in money.
‘King Charles!’, he said, without a moment of hesitation.
Simon then snapped his fingers, Legally Blonde style, but Harrison wasn’t done there.
‘You’ve gotta remember, it’s not all about the money, Simon!’, Harrison quipped.
His savage joke left the panel in stitches.
