Britain’s Got Talent’s Ant and Dec ‘set to sign £30million golden handcuffs deal with ITV’

Ant and Dec are said to have landed a £30million golden handcuffs deal with ITV to keep them on the network for another three years.

Their current contract reportedly ends next year, however, the broadcaster is determined to deter rivals, such as Amazon and Netflix, from snapping them up.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who are both 46, are arguably the most famous presenters in the business, and front the likes of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent, and Limitless Win.

According to insiders, the new deal, which is said to be £15million each, will see them through to their 50th birthdays as two of the best-paid stars on television, which isn’t bad going.

‘They both still seem to have the Midas touch when it comes to making programmes,’ a source said.

‘Keeping them on board is a shrewd move for ITV, who view them as their two biggest stars — with no sign that’s going to change in the near future.’

They added to The Sun: ‘Execs at the channel are also conscious of the fact that competition in TV is fiercer than ever and there are some big streamers with deep pockets waiting in the wings.’

Earlier this month, Ant and Dec took home the entertainment award at the Bafta TV Awards for Saturday Night Takeaway.

After picking up the accolade, the pair couldn’t help but offer up a dig at former ITV star Piers Morgan.

During the winners’ press conference, they admitted they were ‘doing something right’ if controversial TV star Piers ‘hated’ the fact they were winning all the awards.

When quizzed about the possibility of being ‘hated’ by the former Good Morning Britain host, Ant said: ‘That’s great, I don’t mind that.’

While Dec weighed in, they were ‘doing something right’ if they left Piers unimpressed by their achievements.
