Cara Delevingne has faced flak after revealing behind-the-scenes photos from her upcoming show.
The 31-year-old model is now appearing in Cabaret in the West End, having escaped a fire at her Los Angeles home the previous month.
She also appears in the current season of American Horror Story: Delicate, which marks Kim Kardashian‘s acting debut.
As the last episode aired, Cara decided to release gory on-set photos and videos depicting a satanic ritual involving her pregnant tummy.
The Suicide Squad’s normally flat stomach was replaced with a baby bulge that had been violently sliced open using a c-section-style prosthesis.
Followers noted that the photographs might be extremely disturbing for anyone who have endured painful deliveries or infant losses, with little warning.
‘THE HORROR… 🩸,’ Cara had captioned the post, with a picture of herself and cast mates covered in blood which she pretended to lick off her hands.
Fans took issue with the second image in the carousel, which depicted the blood-soaked celebrity holding open each side of a horrific cut that spanned the length of the stomach.
The video then showed her pushing the open bulge up and down while smiling and giving the camera a thumbs up.
Another image showed the bloodied ensemble in black feathered dresses gathered around Annabelle Dexter-Jones, who was screaming on a bed with blood splattered on her stomach.
Other photos showed Cara standing and smiling in her black suit, which was still blood-splattered.
‘Could maybe have done with a trigger warning for the many people following with relevant traumas seeing this unexpectedly,’ wrote KT Thompson in the comments.
She then continued: ‘I work in mental health science, it’s not wokeness it’s public health and human kindness.’
Olivia Rike added: ‘I don’t normally comment on posts like this but there should absolutely be a trigger warning on here. This could be very traumatic for some women to have pop up on their feed.’
‘So insensitive,’ agreed Rebecca Romanous. ‘Could have chosen any other frame from that episode to post. You must live such a good life to not even realise how wrong this is.’
However, others defended Cara’s post as Hannah Aliya shared: ‘I understand PTSD, I am in the psychology field and have certain experiences myself, but when I see a triggering post, I’m not going to expect the whole world to succumb to my trauma.
‘I just have to deal with the sight of it until I’m desensitised. Otherwise you will always live in fear and the reality of the world is that it’s not always gonna accommodate to your feelings.’
Cara has not replied to the controversy, and the photos are still available on her Instagram, as well as Annabelle and Juliana Canfield’s profiles.
