Alexandra Burke has been declared the first winner of Celebrity Great British Bake Off 2021.
The singer was crowned champion and earned her star baker apron after beating Tom Allen, Rob Beckett and Daisy Ridley in the competition.
Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood were particularly impressed with her showstopper – a cake dedicated to her annoyance at her boyfriend jumping into bed after playing football.
Shocked, she said: ‘Thank you! Yes! I just won… like I literally can’t even speak.’
Her co-stars were quick to congratulate her for a job well done, even if it meant that they couldn’t go home with the prize, and Alexandra promised that she would frame her coveted trophy apron.
Prue later told the cameras: ‘Alexandra just did so well, she’s just a really good baker.’
Paul added that it was a close call between her and Rob Beckett, who had previously won a Hollywood Handshake for his practical.
In today’s challenges, the four competitors were tasked with making 12 millionaire’s shortbreads in the practical, a vegan chocolate ganache and raspberry tart in the technical, and a showstopper celebrating their ‘biggest bug bear’.
Notably, Daisy Ridley won over fans for creating a toilet showstopper, in honour of being annoyed at those who left the seat up.
Alexandra stood above the rest of the stars though, and won the technical before storming through on the showstopper.
The episode is the first of the Stand Up To Cancer specials, which will air over the next four weeks.
