Celebrity MasterChef might include two of ITV’s most popular daytime series competing against one another.
The BBC culinary show’s celebrity spin-off will return for its 19th season this summer, with judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode at the lead.
Once again, 20 celebrities will compete to see who is the finest among them, with previous winners including World Cup-winning rugby player Matt Dawson, Pussycat Dolls member Kim Wyatt, and GoCompare opera singer Wynne Evans.
While the line-up for 2024 has yet to be confirmed, strong sources claim that faces from Lorraine and This Morning will be squaring off in the kitchen.
Craig Doyle from This Morning and Christine Lampard, the substitute host for Lorraine, will be among those hoping to impress Gregg and John.
Craig, 53, has been a frequent relief presenter on This Morning since his debut appearance in 2021, occasionally alongside Alison Hammond.
Meanwhile, Christine, 45, the wife of former footballer Frank Lampard, joined Lorraine in 2017 and has already presented over 100 episodes. She has also been a panellist on Loose Women since 2016.
Away from morning television, father-of-four Craig has also presented on various sports for TNT Sport, including rugby and Moto GP, as well as hosting Tonight with Craig Doyle on RTÉ in his native Ireland.
Christine has been presenting for the BBC since 2003, and her experience spans more than 20 years. Her first major role was on The One Show, which she co-hosted alongside Adrian Chiles from 2007 until 2010.
It means that two of ITV’s most popular early daytime presenters will compete to take the Celebrity MasterChef trophy back to their respective programmes.
Elsewhere in the line-up, The Sun has reported that none other than The Traitors’ very own Diane Carson is expected to join the line-up, capitalising on her newfound fame after competing in the BBC gameshow.
According to strong speculations, Ian ‘H’ Watkins from Steps, radio host Edith Bowman, and Radio 1Xtra’s Snoochie Shy will also join the lineup.
Sticking with reality TV, Charlotte Crosby of Geordie Shore will put her cooking skills to the test, while Harry ‘Nitro’ Aikines-Aryeetey, the new face of Gladiators, will see if the kitchen is harder than the Gauntlet.
Last year’s winner, Wynne Evans, beat over Radio 2’s Richie Anderson, Apl from The Black Eyed Peas, and Love Island finalist Luca Bish.
Recent winners include TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, athlete Kadeena Cox, and broadcaster and YouTuber Riyadh Khalaf.
Celebrity MasterChef returns to BBC One later this year.
