Fans of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins who watched the first episode of the new series on Tuesday seemed to appreciate witnessing MP Matt Hancock’s rough treatment on the show.
The disgraced former health secretary, 44, resigned from his cabinet position in 2021 after violating Covid social distance guidelines by kissing a colleague in government premises when the government was under lockdown.
He has since begun a relationship with his old staffer and university acquaintance, Gina Coladangelo.
He has also been on reality television, most recently in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last year and currently in Who Dares Wins.
Viewers found it soothing to watch Hancock being screamed out and disgraced on national television, just like the Channel 4 announcer prior of the show’s start evidently couldn’t wait to throw a dig in.
Hancock, who failed both tasks in the first episode and was called a “catastrophic failure,” entertained the country after being “absolutely roasted” by ex-Special Forces members Billy Billingham, Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, Rudy Reyes, and Chris Oliver.
‘Matt Hancock finally getting the grilling he deserves,’ tweeted one viewer during the episode, while another chimed in: ‘The instructors laughing at Matt Hancock is making my evening.’
‘Nothing makes me happier than watching Matt Hancock get his arse handed to him on telly repeatedly,’ commented someone else.
Praise carried on pouring in for the savage interrogation Hancock faced at the hands of Foxy and Chris, with one noting: ‘Matt Hancock getting absolutely torn apart on #SASWhoDaresWins. He can’t handle anyone trying to challenge his authority. Absolutely brilliant…’
‘Very much enjoying the sight of @MattHancock being told exactly what the entire country wants to say to him, whilst attempting to rehabilitate his public image,’ added someone else.

If Matt Hancock doesn't get beasted and bullied on this, then I've lost all faith in mankind #saswhodareswins

Foxy telling Matt Hancock he was ‘Matt Hancock, with a silent Han’ is my favourite moment of television so far this year. #saswhodareswins

People were also delighted at the opening of the broadcast by a fairly crude remark directed at the lawmaker.
‘Foxy telling Matt Hancock he was ‘Matt Hancock, with a silent Han’ is my favourite moment of television so far this year,’ chuckled one viewer.
Hancock was also placed against retired footballer Jermaine Pennant in the first episode for a violent punching challenge in which they were forced to attack one other until they were told to stop.
In addition to failing that challenge, he fell off the platform at the outset of another job in which he was expected to balance and walk over two poles dangling high in the air.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues at 9pm on Channel 4 on Sunday.
