Celebs Go Dating star claims Wayne Lineker and Chloe Ferry engagement is ‘fake’: Tom Read Wilson exposes the proof in that photo

Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson is convinced Wayne Lineker and Chloe Ferry’s ‘engagement’ is a fake – with one tell-tale sign proving it was all a ruse.

The reality star couple gave everyone a shock when they suggested they were engaged, with Chloe, 25, showing off a diamond ring on her finger as she cuddled up to the entrepreneur for a pic.

Wayne, 58, who has a notorious checklist for his other halves, posted the snap on Instagram with the caption: ‘She said YES! Love you @chloegshore1 ??? ? #lol.’

But speaking to, Celebs Go Dating receptionist Tom has revealed there was one major thing that convinced him it was all a joke.

‘If you look carefully at that post in the background you can see that the backdrop is the big bedroom in the mansion,’ he explained.

‘So it was clearly taken beyond before the end of the show, and I think it’s symptomatic of their English centre sense of humour.

‘I dashed to see the post, and I thought to myself, “Oh that is absolutely the mansion bedroom”, so then I knew.’

‘I think they’re two good chums, really,’ he added. ‘I think that their chumship comes first.’

Whether the couple are for real or not, Chloe is fiercely defensive of Wayne, and stood up for him when vile trolls attacked him for their ‘engagement’.

Supporting Wayne, she told fans: ‘Wayne is one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life and he does not deserve the abuse and the awful words that are getting said about him.

‘I was on the phone to him the other day and he was getting upset, I know he would never show that on social media, but imagine him having to read those comments… it is vile, just vile.’

Seeing as Celebs Go Dating’s mansion doors closed without finding anyone love, Tom has launched a new series to show off his naughty side.

Darling, What Have You Done To Your Hair? is a new online quiz show where contestants have to get questions right – or risk a hair disaster as friends are left in charge of their new style.

Naturally, this had some hilarious results.

‘My favourite thing on Celebs Go Dating is meeting people, meeting the people that date the celebs from every pocket of the UK and learning about them and what makes them tick. That’s what I got to do on this show as well,’ he explained.

‘When the pairs came in I got to know how they met, what their dynamic was, who was the practical joker… and how far they were prepared to go. It was really telling because I would go, “Ok, I need to buckle in for a bumpy ride” or “it’s alright there and benevolent soul”.

‘I couldn’t believe I couldn’t believe how intrepidly impish it some of them were,’ he laughed. ‘But I found it delightful, I really did.’

Darling, What Have You Done To Your Hair? airs Thursdays on E4 social channels: Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
