Chanel the parrot is officially missing again, a year after she initially flew away.
The bird, an African grey FYI, became famous during last year’s lockdown after she disappeared on the streets of Liverpool, with distraught owner Sandra Hannah begging for help to find her.
Appearing on today’s instalment of This Morning, Sandra broke down in tears as she revealed that her beloved pet had taken flight once again.
‘She was out of her cage but she was upstairs, it had been raining all day, and my son just wanted to play out on his bike,’ she tearfully told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
‘So I went out to get the bike, shut the door behind me and was waiting for him in the street.
‘He came out straight behind me and left the door open and I didn’t check. Then she just flew out.’

When Ruth asked if she saw Chanel fly away, Sandra needed a moment to compose herself.
Regaining her composure, she nodded, adding: ‘She went towards the canal again, because we live right next to it.’
Sandra unwittingly came to fame last year when she screamed for Chanel’s return, sharing a video as she searched for the bird on social media.

Of course the clip went viral, spawning countless memes and reaction videos, with Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall getting in on the action on TikTok.
Taking to her page over the weekend, Sandra begged for help to locate Chanel once again, stating: ‘I’m so sorry. It’s not a joke, I need your help again. Chanel flew off again. Please, she definitely went on the canal somewhere.
‘I don’t know what to do but if anyone sees her, you know what she’s like.
‘She’ll be scared. She’s gone. She just flew off.’
Hopefully someone manages to find Chanel ASAP.
This Morning continues on weekdays, at 10am, on ITV.
