A new Channel 4 documentary will look into taking capsules of ‘perfect poos’ to improve your intestinal health.
Yes, you read that correctly – the show will include a groundbreaking new form of faeces transplantation that employs tablets of poo samples for persons with poor male microbiobes.
Know Your S**T: Inside Our Guts, hosted by identical twins Alana and Lisa MacFarlane, often known as the Mac Twins online, will showcase case studies of people with a range of digestive disorders.
‘We’ve been living in the world of gut health for years now, and we’re bursting to take everyone on a journey of discovery – to educate, inspire and change lives like it has ours!’ the pair said.
A preview of the clip shows samples of the ‘perfect poo’ being dried down and put into tablet forms ahead of clinical trials.

‘What we’re looking to do is to take healthy bacterial from the guts of people and give them to people who have a condition, which we think we can make better by introducing that healthy bacteria back into their system,’ Dr Blair Merrick explains.
He shockingly adds that before his ‘revolutionary’ technique, the typical method used was ‘like a slurry or a liquid preparation.’

The clip then switches to one of the poo donors, dubbed a “super pooper” by the show.
Explaining how her poo is so ‘excellent’, she says: ‘I luckily had a really good upbringing of eating really balanced food, and I was always encouraged to exercise.’
Kira appears to be only 2% of the population eligible to give poo to benefit others.
‘I was always born to do it!’ she jokes, about her ‘life-saving’ treatment, before handing over a parcel of her poo to the doctor.
Know Your S**T: Inside Our Guts airs on Channel 4 tonight at 8pm.
