A chef on This Morning has revealed how you can save yourself hours of cooking on Christmas Day.
So basically, you can spend more time eating than actually cooking!
During the festive segment, TV chef and food writer Justine Pattison explained how you can cook your entire Christmas feast in an hour.
Speaking about how to prepare the Christmas Turkey, Justine began: ‘You might think Turkey for two? But yes you can, this is really going to save you some space in the fridge and it means you can cook more in the oven at once time.
‘What I have got here is a Turkey mini-fillet and these are really lovely and tender.
‘What I have done is bashed it out until it’s only about a centimetre and a half thick and then I have filled it with – I have just used a sausage here taken it of its skin, but you could use your favourite stuffing mixture here as well.’
‘Then do another one and pop it on top like that and when you open it like that, you’ve got the one I’ve done. I’ve got some bacon on here all ready to go in the freezer,’ she added as she demonstrated how to do it,’ she added.
‘So you just wrap it up like that and you can decorate it too, I’ve got some orange slices you could put on there. Wrap that all up, put it in your freezer, you can freeze it now and it’ll be fine for Christmas Day.’
Justine went on to add that if you’re cooking for more than two people on December 25, then you can just add more Turkey fillets – and once they are prepared you can just freeze them until the day before.
She continued: ‘Take it out on Christmas Eve and put it in your fridge and on Christmas morning and it’ll only take 50 to 60 minutes.
‘That will be ideal as you’ll only be cooking for a small number as it serves two or you can make two or three or four of them if you’re serving for more.’
The chef also demonstrated an easy way of how to prepare your roast potatoes and sprouts – and once again by preparing and freezing them in advance, they will be ready for the day.
A shocked Eamonn couldn’t believe how easy the hacks were as he quizzed: ‘So Justine, what you’re saying is with the right preparation, you could have your full spread of a Christmas lunch in an hour?’
‘You could,’ Justine replied. ‘You absolutely could if you prepared ahead, this would all be ready in an hour.’
