Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka calls for Riverdale crossover: ‘They could use a witch’

Kiernan Shipka has called for a crossover episode between her show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale.

Both programmes are set in the same universe, but the actress, who plays the titular witch, feels the Riverdale residents could benefit from a little magic – especially with all the borderline supernatural goings on across the river.

She told press ahead of the fourth and final season of Sabrina: ‘Honestly, I just think Riverdale could use a witch.

‘They’re going through a ton of stuff and they need some celestial whatever kind of vibes!

‘They need a bit of extra power, they need someone who knows reincarnation, necromancy. They need that in their world and, I don’t know, I just think it would be a fun world if the two collided at some point.’

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was axed by Netflix in July, meaning we might not get to see creator Robert Aguirre-Sacasa’s plans for a crossover between his two shows.

He previously told fans that if the series had been saved we would have seen the two worlds collide on screen.

Instead the part five storyline, Witch War, will play out in the comics as it is a still-ongoing story for Sabrina.

It involves the people of Greendale and Riverdale with a witch rivalry playing out between Sabrina, Betty (Lily Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes).

After the news Netflix were pulling the plug on Sabrina surfaced, tens of thousands of fans attempted to save it by signing a petition.
