Kaleb Cooper, the breakout hero of Jeremy Clarkson’s famous agricultural documentary, has launched his first-ever live theatre tour to educate people about him.
Next year, The World According To Kaleb will embark on a 33-day national tour from his hometown of Chipping Norton.
Kaleb sprang to prominence in the Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm, when he gave blunt and no-nonsense advise to the former Top Gear host on how to operate Diddly Squat.
He became a fan favourite thanks to his often-frustrating drive to teach Jeremy all there is to know about farming, as well as his hilarious observations on life, the cosmos, and everything in between.
Kaleb, 24, has discovered that since the premiere of the first season in 2021, he has been increasingly in demand outside of his hometown, and he has chosen to capitalise on this with the tour.
‘I’m a firm believer, if I want to go out there and learn something, you’ve got to go out then and go full, head down, go for it,’ he told PA.
‘Yes, it’s a fear, or you know, a nervousness thing, but I think I’m a firm believer of… going towards it and facing your fear with brave shoulders.’
Kaleb went on to say that he was delighted to take his show on the road and meet other farmers around the country, but instead of talking about his new celebrity lifestyle, he’d rather talk about soil types, crops, rain, and cattle.
Despite his efforts to keep the farm running smoothly, Kaleb does not think he has a job.
‘I don’t work, I don’t have a job,’ he revealed. ‘I don’t believe that I have a job. What I do for a living, it’s a way of life.’
Kaleb was recently invited to a Downing Street conference on ‘farming,’ where he met Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, which he characterised as a “amazing experience.”
Mr Sunak posted a series of photos on Instagram after meeting the young farmer, writing, ‘Farming isn’t simply a profession. It’s a way of life for them.
‘And it doesn’t matter how young you are, there’s a role for you in farming. Anyone can do it.’
He concluded: ‘Enjoyed meeting at 10 Downing Street today to discuss how to get more young people into farming… and compare hairstyles.’
Kaleb said that he was astonished by the invitation and thought he couldn’t pass up such a wonderful chance.
‘I got my points across to the PM, which we said in private and, you know, I believe that he’s listening to farmers.’
He went on to say that he hoped Mr Sunak would attend one of his tour events, but that he would not be granting him a discount.
‘I’m gonna send him the ticket link,’ he said.
Audiences will be able to engage in some fun agricultural activities and obtain a better knowledge of some of the various issues that British farmers face today. He’ll also share some of his famously strong opinions on a variety of topics, including sheep, goats, New York City, personal style, and Jeremy.
Jeremy, according to Kaleb, “doesn’t listen to anyone,” although he did admit that he “knew a thing or two” about farming.
‘In every industry, you learn everything. He knows television – that’s his industry, that’s where he’s been working for so long.
‘When you go into another industry, it’s another thing to learn and of course, he’s been doing it for four years now so if I said he hadn’t learned anything, I’d be wrong.’
He added: ‘I’ll give him a ticket for the tour and then he can come and learn a bit more.’
Clarkson’s Farm will return for a third season, but not for a while!
The World According To Kaleb tour kicks off at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre on 25-27 January 2024 and continues through March. Tickets are on sale here now.
