Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper is saddened to acknowledge that Jeremy Clarkson is improving as a farmer.
The agricultural contractor, 24, has been working with the 63-year-old former Top Gear host, who famously chose to try his hand at farming after acquiring 1000 acres from the Sarsden estate in Oxfordshire in 2008.
Their efforts at the farm, dubbed Diddly Squat to reflect its initial lack of output, have been documented for the Amazon Prime series for the past two years.
With Jeremy’s little agricultural experience, Kaleb was brought on to advise him on the technical nuances of utilising farming equipment and to assist with a variety of general jobs.
Although the two have argued at times, particularly when the TV star has disobeyed orders, Kaleb now claims Jeremy is improving his abilities.
Kaleb was questioned about Jeremy’s improvement on Good Morning Britain on Friday by hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway.
‘I am being very nice and it hurts me to say this but I think there is a farmer in there,’ he shared.
‘I am just trying to break it out of him and he is extremely good, annoyingly this is going to hurt me to say this, he is really good at pig farming and he has literal knowledge now which I think is very dangerous,’ he added.
During the interview, Kaleb stated that working with Jeremy was “great fun,” but that he was “frustrated” when his advise was ignored.
‘I thought he would listen [when we first met] but he didn’t and it was hard work so I just had to shout at him,’ he explained.
When asked about his enthusiasm for the sector, Kaleb stated that farming was more than just a profession to him, but a “way of life.”
Despite gaining a lot of followers since participating on the show, he denied being a star and said he ‘hated’ being dubbed one.
Despite a looming cloud over the series’ future after an Ipso inquiry determined an article Jeremy wrote about Meghan Markle was sexist, it was reported this week that production on the third season has concluded.
Lisa and Diddly Squat Farm Shop’s official Instagram account shared a short clip of farm manager Kaleb looking elated and captioned the post: ‘Whoooop! S3 IN THE BAG.’
It comes after Prime UK’s head of original Dan Grabiner stated in August at the Edinburgh TV Festival that ‘no decisions’ had been made on the show’s future.
Clarkson’s Farm is streaming on Amazon Prime. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
