Cobra Kai season 3 will be missing one familiar face from the dojo – Aisha, Sam’s best friend who was taken in by the violent squad.
The character, played by Nichole Brown, had become one of the main recruits of Cobra Kai, after years of bullying saw her seeking to get back control.
After fighting to get Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) to take in girls, she became one of the fiercest defenders of the karate gang, but in the epic season three, she’ll be completely absent.
Nichole announced her withdrawal herself back in September 2019, simply writing on Instagram: ‘Officially NOT in Season 3 of #CobraKai… Unfortunate, but thank you for the opportunity and time I had on the show.’
But will she ever make a return?
‘We love Aisha and we love Nichole Brown,’ producer and showrunner Jon Hurwitz told TVLine.
‘Certain characters we loved in season one didn’t appear at all in season two, like Kyler, Yasmine and Louie.
‘Before the season, we told Nichole the same thing we told those actors: That just because a character doesn’t appear for a period of time doesn’t mean they’ve left the universe, that they can’t return again.
‘We love that character, and perhaps we’ll see her again one day.’
In the meantime, the kids have more than enough on their hands with the devastating effects of the season two finale school brawl having devastating effects on everyone.
With Cobra Kai waging war against the kids of rival karate school Miyagi-Do, Johnny and long-time rival Daniel (Ralph Macchio) are left disillusioned with the world they one loved so much.
But with vicious sensei Kreese (Martin Kove) out for blood, and Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) possibly never able to walk again, let alone fight, there’s more showdowns to be had before this rivalry ends once and for all.
