A first look picture from the second series of Code 404 has been revealed, giving fans a taste of what’s to come in 2021.

Stephen Graham and Daniel Mays are back in action in the comedy drama, and the new image sees them cutting moody figues, standing back to back in front of a helicopter.

The show, though, was a chance for the pair to show off their comedy chops when it first arrived earlier this year.

The series focuses on a pair of British detectives, one of which has been brought back to life with artificial intelligence after being killed in action.

Like many shows, Code 404 was hit with production delays amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Actor Daniel reassured fans that filming was back underway back in August though, posting a picture in full get up as his character DI John Major.

‘Back in the saddle after 7 months away. DI John Major reporting for duty,’ he wrote.

Star Stephen, who is best known for hard-hitting roles in This Is England and Line of Duty, previously admitted that he signed on to star in the new comedy-drama Code 404 because his wife told him he ‘needed some fun.’

Speaking to and other press, Stephen said: ‘I’ve done quite a lot of heavy, intense stuff over the past few years. And [my wife] Hannah read this and said “right, you’re doing this. You could do with having some fun.”‘

He continued: ‘And then I read it and I loved it, I thought the script was great. It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had on a set.’

Code 404 series one is available on NOW TV.
