Daisy May Cooper may have just won herself the award for most ‘iconic’ moment on TV for 2020, after she was seen devouring watermelon on Taskmaster.

During Thursday night’s episode of the Channel 4 comedy series, Daisy was seen taking part in a challenge with Richard Herring, where they had to eat as much watermelon as they could in one minute.

Dressed in boiler suits and surrounded by smashed up watermelons, the duo really gave it all as they were forced to feed each other the fruit, no matter how much they might have wretched.

Daisy certainly put herself through the ringer trying to chow down on her watermelon and struggled to keep it down.

Such scenes were hailed both ‘horrifying and mesmerising’ by viewers at home, with many flocking to Twitter to praise the This Country star for making their 2020.

‘My life will never be the same again after watching Daisy May Cooper eat a watermelon on #taskmaster,’ tweeted one viewer, while one joked: ‘If they give BAFTAs for eating Watermelon then Daisy May Cooper just won at least eight. #Taskmaster.’

‘I bloody love Daisy May Cooper. Not every woman would just let you shove handfuls of watermelon in her face until she retched,’ said another, championing Daisy’s efforts.

Taskmaster is a comedy panel game show hosted by comedian Alex Horne that sees the taskmaster (The Inbetweeners star Greg Davies) issue weird and wonderful tasks for the competing celebs to carry out.

The latest episode of the show also saw Johnny Vegas wax the letters T and M into his chest when challenged to do something out of character with £20.

That was after he flagged down a man cycling to work on the street and asked if he could wrap him up in netting using a Christmas tree baler.

Daisy and Johnny are regular players on the show, alongside stand-up comic Richard, The It Crowd’s Katherine Parkinson and YouTube star Mawaan Rizwan.

The celebs taking on the challenges in the new series of the Channel 4 show are This Country’s Daisy May Cooper, Johnny Vegas, Katherine Parkinson, Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring.
