Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova is said to have broken up with her fiancé, with whom she shares a five-year-old daughter.

Last year, Nadiya, 32, competed on the series with BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, with the pair becoming the 10th to be eliminated in the competition.

The dancer was engaged to Slovenian footballer Matija Škarabot, who currently plays for Slovenian football club ND Primorje.

However, it has emerged that the couple have reportedly split, due to the commitment both give to their jobs and their long-distance relationship.

A source told MailOnline that they hadn’t been together ‘for some time now’, with Matija, 33, ‘dedicated to his footballing career in Slovenia’ and Nadiya being ‘predominantly based in London’.

‘Performing on Strictly and the Strictly Live Tour takes up half her year, in the end the commitment to their jobs made it too difficult for the relationship to work,’ the insider said.

‘There’s still a lot of love and respect between them and Mila is and always will be their priority.’

Both Nadiya and Matija declined to comment, MailOnline reported.

In June last year, the dancer shared a post on Instagram dedicated to the footballer in honour of Father’s Day, with pictures of him embracing their daughter, Mila.

‘This beautiful connection between daughter and father is so important. Makes me so happy to see this kind of moments between them [sic],’ she wrote.

‘Thank you for being the best dad to our beautiful little girl. We love you.’

Nadiya was previously married to Russian dancer Sergey Konovaltsev, with their marriage lasting for two years from 2013.

In December, she achieved a Guinness World Record for the second year in a row, as she was crowned the winner of the professional dancer pat-a-cake challenge.

The previous year, she broke the record for the most Fleckerls steps in 30 seconds.
