Dan Walker has disclosed that a ‘nasty altercation’ with some crunchy peanut butter resulted in his teeth falling out while hosting his radio programme.
The former BBC Breakfast broadcaster, who joined Channel 5 in 2022, now conducts a weekday breakfast show on Classic FM.
However, at his most recent act, Dan, 46, experienced an issue when his tooth loosened after enjoying the spread.
‘Actual tooth fell out on air this morning after a nasty altercation with some crunchy peanut butter,’ he posted on social media.
Dan shared a photo of the tooth in question and took a selfie while holding it, his face appearing to be a mix of amazement and disgust.
Many individuals expressed their sympathy for Dan’s dental tragedy.
‘The last piece of popcorn I ever ate cost me £1500! Sympathies my friend,’ BBird1979 commented on Instagram.
‘Snap! My crown snapped off last week – a front tooth too. My sympathy,’ user izzyandlouis shared.
‘That’s the stuff of nightmares right there,’ Helen Rickard added.
Another, sukilon2019, added: ‘Smooth peanut butter…it’s the future.’
Dan had a significant health scare last year following a near-fatal bike accident that sent him to the hospital.
In February, a driver pushed him off his bike, leaving him scarred and injured.
At the time, the Strictly Come Dancing star, who uploaded photos from inside an ambulance shortly after his accident, also mentioned maybe needing his teeth out and being unable to feel a portion of his lip.
Dan said little over six months later that he was still suffering from ‘nerve damage’ as a result of the event.
Responding to a Q&A on Instagram, he explained how if he sat down for more than 10 minutes his ‘leg tingles and foot goes dead’ but that he was ‘in the process of having it looked at’.
