Dancing on Ice 2021 competitor Denise Van Outen was reportedly rushed to hospital after falling face first during a rehearsal and dislocating her shoulder.
On Sunday, Denise, 46, is supposed to be taking to the ice with her professional skating partner Matt Evers in the ITV ice skating competition.
However, ahead of the show’s launch, the actor is said to have experienced a bit of a tumble that means her appearance in the programme is ‘touch and go’.
‘I’ve taken a few tumbles since we started training but with this one I knew immediately it wasn’t good,’ she stated.
‘I was rehearsing with Matt, hit my toe pick and went flying.’
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Denise said that she ‘knew I’d done something’ straight away.
‘I just thought, “Please don’t let it be a break,”‘ she stated.
‘The on-site medics and physio checked me over immediately and my shoulder was quickly iced.’
The fall occurred on Thursday while Denise was skating at Dancing on Ice’s rink at Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire.
After being taken to hospital, the presenter was informed that she ‘had a partial dislocation and tendon damage’.
Denise added that it’s had a significant impact on her ability to move her left arm.
She explained that she and Matt, 44, have had to ‘make some changes’ so as to not put ‘additional strain’ on her shoulder.
However, Denise admitted that it’s ‘touch and go as to whether I can skate’ in the launch show.
Fellow Dancing on Ice contestant Lady Leshurr wished Denise a speedy recovery with a post on her Instagram Story.
‘All my love and support to Denise Van Outen for tomorrow pls everyone send love. I hope you heal ASAP!!!’ the rapper wrote.
Dancing on Ice launches on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
