Brendan Cole has admitted he’s been ‘terrible’ during the rehearsals for Dancing on Ice as he confirmed his spot on the line-up during today’s Loose Women.
The performer will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow former Strictly James Jordan, who won the ITV show in 2020.
‘I am so, so excited. It’s been a while coming now and I want to get started – I’ve wanted it for a long time,’ he said.
However, rehearsals haven’t quite been going to plan.
‘I’ve had one go and I’m a fairly confident person, I like to think I’m going to be good at whatever I put my hand or feet to,; he said.
‘I was thinking, “I reckon I’ll be fine”, but I was terrible. I was a bit wobbly, I was hoping I was going to be better than I was, but I have time to learn.
‘I’m going to embrace the whole experience and I’m very excited.’
When Carol McGiffin suggested he had an advantage over his rivals, being a professional dancer, he said: ‘Be careful what you say. Yes I have an advantage, I’ll hopefully pick up choreography quite easily.
‘There’ll be certain things I won’t have to think about working on in the week, because hopefully they will be naturally there, but I like to think as I did with Strictly, you start in a certain place and it’s not where you finish, it’s about where you start and your progression.’
Dancing on Ice returns to ITV in 2022.
