Dancing On Ice star Ria Hebden has opened up on being in the first skate-off of the 2022 ITV series, as she waits to find out who she’ll be up against tonight.

Ria made a strong start to the competition with partner Lukasz Rozycki performing an upbeat routine to Harry Styles song ‘Treat People With Kindness’.

She impressed fans and the panel, scoring a respectable 24.5 points, but the pair found themselves in the bottom two, despite receiving higher scores than three other couples.

Tonight, Ria will skate again against one of the remaining six couples who take to the ice tonight.

But the TV presenter admitted she was ‘gutted’ to find herself in the bottom two, as she remains the bookmakers’ favourite to exit the show first.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk, she said: ‘Well, you know, I was gutted initially because we worked really hard on that routine, and it went really well on the night.

‘I’m still pinching myself that I did a cartwheel, on ice, on live TV, and didn’t kill myself!

‘So it is what it is, this is showbiz, isn’t it? Anything can happen,’ Ria teased.

She went on to add she was ‘most proud’ of coming third on the leaderboard, adding: ‘I got the highest score of any non-professional dancer in the show.

‘That’s what I’m going to take away from that, I’m just motivated to keep putting the hours in and just working hard on this week’s routine, and just having fun every day with Lukasz, we just laugh so much in training!

‘For me, it’s just about enjoying those moments and just enjoying the show!’

Some of those watching at home were left unhappy with the bottom two result, after Bez sailed through to another week in the competition despite trailing behind his competitors on the scoreboard.

But Ria won’t be going down without a fight, tweeting earlier this week: ‘We didn’t come this far to only come this far!

‘Lukasz and I are so looking forward to showing you our next skate this Sunday on @dancingoniceon @ITV.’

‘Thanks for all your love & support on our skating journey! See you on the telly from 6.30pm.’

Viewers will have to tune in tonight to see if Ria will make it through to next week’s highly-anticipated movie week.

Dancing On Ice airs on Sunday at 6:30pm on ITV
