Dannii Minogue has offered an emotional update on her romantic life, revealing that she is queer.
The 52-year-old singer is returning to her position as Cupid on BBC Three’s dating drama I Kissed A Girl.
The episode, which follows the popularity of I Kissed A Boy last year, will feature ten women attempting to discover love through a kiss.
Dannii allegedly fought back tears at the programme’s opening on Thursday, admitting her own queer identity.
She said: ‘I identify as queer in a weird way.’
Talking about the programme, she went on: ‘This is so important. There hasn’t been a show for the girls in the reality gay dating world.
‘It’s like we need this to happen. I’m hoping that there are parties up and down the country.’
When asked if Danni is attracted to women like the contestants in the history-making show, she added, according to MailOnline: ‘You girls are hot. You know it. I love it. I’m here for it. Is that an answer?’
She added: ‘You girls are so brave and amazing and have brought so much to it. I could never do what you have done.
‘I will always be in awe of what has happened and what we’ve created. I feel so proud. You’re stepping forward, and you’re the first crew of girls representing in this space, and it is big.’
Speaking around the time I Kissed A Boy launched, Dannii shared her own pride over being part of it.
On what it meant to be hosting the show, she said in an interview: ‘This is going to change the daily life paths of many, many people.
‘There’s so much to be learned from the show, for families, friends and allies, and even for people who attack the community.
‘I think they’re attacking something they don’t know about, or they feel like they’ve never met anyone that’s gay.
‘I’m so happy that BBC Three is kicking the door down, putting the show out there because it’s nuts that it’s 2023 and this has never happened before.’
Fans have been congratulating Danni after she made the announcement, and sharing their excitement for the new show.

Dannii, a former X Factor judge, prefers to keep her personal life private.
She married actor Julian McMahon in 1994 after meeting on the set of Home and Away, but the couple separated the next year.
She subsequently revealed that she was dating model and former professional rugby player Kris Smith, with whom she had a kid.
According to bene, Dannii has been dating Adrian Newman for eleven years, but they keep their relationship private.
Last year, she said, according to OK!: ‘It’s not a secret! You ask me this every time, we’ve been going out for nine years!
‘Every time anyone prints a picture of him they go “secret man”, “never seen” … he’s just not interested in anything to do with the public eye.’
Back in 2018, the publication notes Dannii said she has ‘a beautiful boyfriend’ but they are ‘super private’.
‘I am just in the perfect moment,’ she reportedly said.
‘Everything is good, in love, family and health. Everything is ticking the box. It’s the most beautiful bubble. I don’t want it to end.’
