Following the popularity of I Kissed A Boy, I Kissed A Girl is on the way!
Yes, the first dating programme in the UK, presented by Dannii Minogue, is getting a lesbian spin-off.
I Kissed A Boy caused quite a stir when it was originally announced, considering that an exclusively LGBT dating programme had never broadcast before – surprising, we know.
I Kissed A Boy, directed by the oldest Minogue sister, follows a group of ten single men as they look for love in a beautiful sunny locale.
The ten-part series pairs the males up after, you guessed it, a kiss, with pairings constructed based on what each person wants in a possible mate.
Following their first kiss, the new couples go on a romantic excursion that will determine how compatible they truly are.
It’s just as tasty as it sounds.
So we can only anticipate I Kissed A Girl to be full of drama.
The upcoming series’ synopsis states, ‘I Kissed A Girl will provide drama, demolish preconceptions, and promise more twists and turns than before.’
Dannii has already expressed her enthusiasm for the series.
Taking to Instagram, the 51-year-old Australian actress, who has established herself as a real LGBT icon and ally, videotaped her response as the end titles of the newest episode of I Kissed A Boy aired.
At the conclusion, the narrator said that I Kissed A Girl is in the works, and applications are currently available.
Dannii was unable to hide her glee, as she let out a big: ‘Yasss!’
Blowing a kiss to the camera, she said: ‘See you there for series two!’
Understandably, the internet is equally confused.
‘Sign me up, I’m ready’, one person tweeted.
‘dannii minogue queen of the gay dating franchises’, another declared.
‘Omg let’s go lesbians let’s GO’, another wrote.
The only issue we have is whether or not the theme song will be Katy Perry‘s big single.
Dannii expressed her delight in being a part of I Kissed A Boy at the time of its release.
‘This is going to affect the everyday life pathways of many, many people,’ she told Metro.co.uk of hosting the programme.
‘There’s so much to be learned from the show, for families, friends and allies, and even for people who attack the community.
‘I think they’re attacking something they don’t know about, or they feel like they’ve never met anyone that’s gay.
‘I’m so happy that BBC Three is kicking the door down, putting the show out there because it’s nuts that it’s 2023 and this has never happened before.’
I Kissed A Boy is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer. I Kissed A Girl is coming soon to BBC Three.
