Stranger Things star David Harbour requested that the Byers’ family dog Chester was killed off because he hated it so much.
The 46-year-old Jim Hopper actor, who has been, who has been teasing plot details ahead of the new season of the Netflix hit, revealed he didn’t at all warm to the fluffy pet because it wreaked havoc during filming.
‘I hated that f****** dog so bad,’ David said in a recent episode of the YouTube show Hot Ones.
‘Take after take it would wander off or do something.
‘And then I remember the trainer on the sidelines going, “Come on! We got to make our money!’”’
Speaking about his request to get Chester out of the production altogether, David continued: ‘Yeah, I walked up to them, and I was like, “You know, the Byers should probably have that dog put to sleep next season”.’

Coincidently, Chester hasn’t been seen since the first series of Stranger Things and considering that was all the way back in 2016, it’s unlikely he’ll be returning.
‘We never talk about it the whole rest of the show,’ David added. ‘We should find it in the Upside Down in one of these future seasons.’
Stranger Things season four is currently in production, with four recurring stars added joining the cast for the new chapter.
The Netflix series will welcome Anne with an E’s Amybeth McNulty, Queen Sugar’ Myles Truitt, Queen of the South’s Regina Ting Chen and The Village star Grace Van Dien in upcoming episodes.
As it stands, plot details for the new series are currently under wraps, but recent set photos have also sparked fears of a huge death.
The images show cast and crew members gathered at the cemetery, and it could spell bad news for the residents of Hawkins.
Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix.
