David Walliams rips into Simon Cowell’s back-breaking bike incident in the upcoming Britain’s Got Talent Christmas special.
Simon underwent six-and-a-half hours of surgery after falling off his electric bicycle in October and his accident is one of the subjects of David’s stand-up routine.
According to reports, the Little Britain comedian will perform a number which will see a puppet of the mogul crashing off the ITV show’s stage.
Dressed as a snowman, David will appear clutching the Simon puppet and will say: ‘Little Simon, be careful on your electric bike.’
He’ll then place the doll on a tiny bike which rides off stage.
‘Thankfully Simon is very good at laughing at himself as he’s had the worst year,’ an insider said.
The source added to The Sun: ‘Breaking your back in three places is not much fun at all. David is never one to miss a comedy trick. But he clearly misses Simon.’
Besides David’s performance, the Britain’s Got Talent Christmas special will also see Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and Simon’s stand-in Ashley Banjo take to the stage alongside with a number of the show’s former acts.
Amanda will be singing with 2014 musical theatre champs Collabro, while Alesha and 2017 winner Tokio Myers will give a rendition of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
In addition, David will perform a routine with six of the show’s funniest comedians, including 2018 champion Lost Voice Guy.
Elsewhere, Ashley will be returning to the stage with his Diversity dance troupe, who stormed the competition in 2009, and 2008 street dancing winner George Sampson.
Britain’s Got Talent: Christmas Spectacular airs on Christmas Day at 8pm on ITV.
