Fans of Deal or No Deal have protested that the relaunch will not provide the contestants with a jackpot.
ITV stated earlier this year that the iconic daytime gameshow will return, with Stephen Mulhern taking over as host from Noel Edmonds.
While the resurrection will replicate the structure of the original programme, which aired for 11 years on Channel 4 until being cancelled in 2016, the prizes are expected to be significantly reduced.
Participants in the competition might win up to £250,000.
Previous participants could win up to £250,000, but the reboot’s payout has been reduced by more than half to £100,000.
To remain in line with current inflation, £250,000 would amount to £363,248 today, while £100,00 would be equivalent of around £70,000 back in 2016 according to an online calculator.
Thanks to inflation the £100k jackpot on #DealOrNoDeal 2023 is worth less than a quarter the £250k jackpot was worth in 2005. It's like having a £60k jackpot back then.

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s a strange sign of the times, but times are tough for ITV just as it is for all other companies across the country, and £100,000 is still a lot of money these days.
‘Plus, Deal or no Deal was never about the winnings, it was always about the game and the camaraderie between the contestants, with some happy to walk away with nothing….or just 1p in some cases.’
The legendary show saw constants choosing one of 22 boxes, each carrying an unknown monetary value ranging from 1p to £250,000.
Once the sum is disclosed, contestants can opt to wager in order to choose a box containing more money or accept an offer from the show’s Banker.
In addition to the traditional Deal or No Deal, a Celebrity spin-off aired in the UK from 2012 to 2015, featuring celebrities competing for charity money.
Louis Walsh took home the largest jackpot, totaling £70,000 for the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, followed by JLS, who took home £50,000 for their own charity organisation.
Deal or No Deal has been recreated in Australia, Ecuador, Croatia, and the United States, in addition to the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Meghan Markle appeared as a’suitcase girl’ on the US version of the show and said she was ‘handled like a bimbo.’
