Susanna Reid has publicly condemned PC David Carrick, a serving Metropolitan Police officer who is considered one of the worst sex offenders in contemporary history after admitting 24 counts of rape against 12 women over a 17-year period.
Carrick, dubbed “Bastard Dave,” pled guilty to 49 offences committed between 2003 and 2020.
His heinous acts were among the primary topics of discussion on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain, with Reid visibly horrified when his photograph appeared on the screen.
When asked about the headlines, she claimed it was ‘disgusting’ and’shocking’ that Carrick had been able to police for so long.
Co-presenter Ed Balls agreed, saying Carrick’s crimes were ‘beyond belief’. ‘I thought I was quite hardened to things turning out bad but this is beyond what you could have thought was possible,’ he continued.

Reid noted: ‘This is about a culture that tolerated his existence in the police service which is supposed to serve women who may go to police officers and make a complaint of rape.’
She went on to add: ‘The idea that he was able to get away with 80 offences is absolutely disgusting.
‘When you think about the number of convictions for rape that there are, it is minute, so that criminal threshold would be very remote anyway.’

Minutes later, when a photograph of Carrick popped up, Reid added: ‘It gives me the creeps just having his picture on the screen frankly.’
Sir Mark Rowley, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, admitted the force’s shortcomings were “horrific” and apologised to victims.
‘We’ve let women and girls down, and indeed we’ve let Londoners down,’ he said.
‘I do understand also that this will lead to some women across London questioning whether they can trust the Met to keep them safe.
‘We have failed. And I’m sorry. He should not have been a police officer.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
