Giles and Mary are the eccentric Wiltshire couple that won the nation’s heart since they first appeared on the show in 2015.

Giles Wood and Mary Killen are best known for their dry humour, matching wallpaper and armchairs, and for calling each other ‘nutty’.

It is rumoured the posh couple have some friends in high places, namely, Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Is there any truth in this?

Do Gogglebox’s Giles and Mary know Boris Johnson?

It has been reported that Giles and Mary are very close with Boris Johnson and his sister Rachel.

Mary is said to be friends with Boris’s sister Rachel, while Giles has been commissioned as a painter by Lord Marland, former treasurer for the Conservatives.

According to The Telegraph, the pair have been on holiday to Scotland with Boris.

However, neither Boris nor Mary and Giles have commented on the friendship.

What breed is Gogglebox’s Giles and Mary’s dog?

The pair’s adorable fluffy dog sometimes make appearances on the show, and viewers often tweet about wanting to adopt one of their own.

Tibetan Spaniels are small, fluffy, intelligent dogs that originate from Tibet, China.

On a recent episode, Mary revealed that their pup is called Merlin.

Giles and Mary had another Tibetan Spaniel that used to feature on the show, but unfortunately, it passed away in 2017.
