It just wouldn’t be Christmas without Doctor Who, and there’s a brand new festive special on the way very soon.
The BBC recently released their Christmas and New Year’s Day schedules, with Doctor Who taking pride and place this year.
The upcoming special, titled Revolution of the Daleks, also marks the final adventure for some of the show’s most popular characters.
Bradley Walsh and Tosin Cole are saying goodbye to the series with the episode, bringing an end to two years in the roles of Graham O’Brien and Ryan Sinclair respectively.
It’s sure to be a fantastic send off, marking the first episode since the cliffhanger ending of the show’s 12th series.

Who is in the cast of the Doctor Who Christmas special?
Bradley and Tosin might be leaving after the special, but they’ve still got a big role to play before they go. They’ll be joining Jodie Whittaker, who returns as the Doctor.
One person who will also be starring is Mandip Gill (Yaz), who isn’t ready for her journey on the show to be over just yet.
Chris Noth is set to return as Jack Robertson, and he’ll be joined by Dame Harriet Walter, who will be making her Doctor Who debut. The 70-year-old was was recently seen in Killing Eve as the nefarious Dasha.
Also joining the cast for the episode is Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, best known for Misfits and The Trial Of Christine Keeler.
The biggest news, though, is that John Barrowman is reprising his role as the beloved Captain Jack Harkness, recently revealing he’s ‘thrilled’ to return to the sci-fi series.
What is the plot of the Doctor Who Christmas special?
The official synopsis for the episode reads: ‘The upcoming festive special will see the return of one of the Doctor’s biggest and most feared enemies – the Daleks.
‘The Doctor is locked away in a high-security alien prison. Isolated, alone, with no hope of escape.
‘Far away, on Earth, her best friends, Yaz, Ryan and Graham have to pick up their lives without her. But it’s not easy. Old habits die hard. Especially when they discover a disturbing plan forming. A plan which involves a Dalek. How can you fight a Dalek, without the Doctor?’
Is there a Doctor Who Christmas Special trailer?
The new clip arrived a few weeks back, and set pulses racing for fans online. The preview shows the Doctor’s oldest enemy the Daleks spending time by Downing Street, promising a whole lot of action and jeopardy, as the gang try to protect the earth without the Doctor by their side.
The clip also shows the return of Jack Robertson, with Captain Jack looking to do everything in his power to battle the forces of evil.
