After seeing Dr. Pimple Popper, a woman with maggots in her toes is finally recuperating, and her legs not only look better, but they also smell better.
This season of the TLC reality show has included a woman who went to a magician for help with a ‘third breast’ developing on her shoulder, as well as a lady with maggots in her toes.
Dr Sandra Lee, a cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist, previously assisted a guy with 400 tumours all over his body and another with a ‘evil twin’ cyst behind his skull.
In a recent episode, patient Paula had crusted over, rough feet with areas of skin that were raw and damp, and others that were fully covered in hard, dry skin, with flies swarming around.
But, thanks to Dr. Lee’s assistance, she is on the mend.
Dr. Lee pays a home visit and is happy to see Paula has been following her strict instructions in caring for her legs.
‘Everything is going fine, and I expect it to get even better with the exercises,’ Paula assures.
She continues: ‘When we first met [my legs] were leaking constantly, that doesn’t happen anymore, at all.’
‘That was leading to that build up of the crustiness,’ Dr Lee informs.
‘You think that has gotten less?’
Paula goes on to show her legs, agreeing the crustiness ‘comes and goes’.
‘It looks really great, it’s clearing up certainly from the top down,’ Dr Lee praises, saying: ‘That looks better! You’re doing a good job.’
‘That’s doing a lot better, it’s not oozing, it’s dried up!’ she continues, as the programme shows a series of before and after pictures boasting the transformation.
‘Today, the swelling is certainly much less, she doesn’t have a lot of crusting, a lot of redness, she certainly doesn’t have much oozing and with that comes much less smell,’ Dr Lee says.
She then adds, however, that there are still ‘some real problems’.
In a previous stomach-churning clip, Paula shared: ‘I found maggots between my toes.
‘Then my son came over and said, “You can’t stay here like this anymore.
‘”You have to go into the hospital.” So I went into the hospital.’
She continued: ‘The nurses came in and cleaned up the wounds.
‘They did an X-ray to make sure the maggots hadn’t gotten into the bone, and sent me home.
‘I’ve been through many doctors, over the years, and no one has been able to help.’
