A woman with a large growth over her eye has nicknamed it the “unicorn bump.”
She’s seeking assistance from Dr Pimple Popper after experiencing headaches as a result of the increased pressure and stretched skin.
The TLC reality show follows people from all across America who come to dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon Dr Sandra Lee for assistance with their’spots,’ whether it’s masses developing on their body or squeezing blackheads.
Dr. Lee has previously assisted patients with a ‘third breast’ beneath an armpit, as well as a guy with 400 tumours across his body.
‘I call it my unicorn bump,’ a new patient says in a trailer for a future episode.
‘It’s sturdy, and I can move it about a little.’
She goes on: ‘I get headaches from just the pressure from it pressing against and the skin being pulled.’
Her agonising predicament resembles that of one of Dr. Lee’s prior patients, who had a ‘hard bulbous growth’ over his eye and was afraid of medical treatments and getting it checked by a doctor, despite the lump developing for more than a decade.
‘I’ve got this bulbous growth on my eye,’ he begins.
However, despite the growth leaning over his eye and protruding from his forehead, he insists he ‘doesn’t notice it’ until he looks in the mirror.
In stomach churning scenes, he goes on to prod it with his fingers, explaining that it feels ‘really hard’ like ‘nose cartilage’.
‘I can move it around and it doesn’t hurt at all, there’s no pain,’ he say, going on to explain: ‘I noticed this little bump like a spider bite below my eyebrow.
‘It was like a zit without a head or something like that, and over the next few years it started growing little by little.
‘But still, since it didn’t bother me, I didn’t want to go to the doctor. I basically just hoped it would go away.’
A decade later, and it hadn’t, as he continues: ‘I didn’t go to the doctor growing up, I never had a family doctor or anything like that, and I didn’t get sick a lot, and now as an adult, I’m definitely squeamish about a knife cutting me open.
‘I’m not a big proponent of any medical procedures.’
