Dragons’ Den has been on television for 19 years, yet on tonight’s programme, an entrepreneur performed a show first.
That is difficult to accomplish after so much time on television, but Giselle, 31, did it.
She stepped into the den and demanded £50,000 for a 10% investment in her company, Acu Seeds, which provides DIY needle-free ear acupuncture for anxiety, migraines, hormone difficulties, insomnia, weight loss, and other ailments.
In her amazing presentation, she informed dragons Steven Bartlett, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Sara Davies, Touker Suleyman, and guest businessman Gary Neville about her personal tale.
Giselle has ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis), often known as chronic fatigue syndrome. She went from working at an advertising agency with a full social calendar to being housebound and unable to move for more than five minutes.
After being informed she wouldn’t be able to recuperate or have children, she embarked on a ‘personal healing path’ that included acupuncture. She said that this benefited her rehabilitation and helped her become pregnant.
‘I realised there was a gap in the market for people to use ear seed kits at home,’ she told the intrigued panel.
After Deborah’s demonstration, all six dragons had the opportunity to ask questions. They were all quite impressed with the 18-month-old business’s stats, which included selling the kits for £30 although they only cost £3 to create and making £92,000 in sales over a year.
All six dragons made an offer, which has never happened before. This is due in part to the fact that there had never been six dragons before, although that does not diminish the panel’s overall impact.
‘What did you put in my ear? Because normally I have 1001 questions,’ remarked Deborah. Similar sentiments were expressed by everyone else, who also sang her praises for setting up such an impressive business.
With everyone vying for a piece of the pie, Giselle deliberated before selecting Steven, 31, based on a spiritual message.
‘I was told I’d meet a man called Steven and he’d be really important,’ she shared.
Although originally Steven wanted 15% she managed to work him done to 12.5% and they embraced in a hug.
Dragons’ Den airs Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One.
