Eamonn Holmes’ ITV colleague Charlotte Hawkins has offered an update on his health, after he went to hospital over ‘chronic pain’ issues.
The This Morning host sparked concern on Thursday when he revealed that he had gone to hospital to get checked out, after suffering severe pain.
Speaking about his illness on today’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, Charlotte explained that she was messaging the 61-year-old last night, following his tweet.
She also clarified that he had returned from hospital and was recovering at home.
‘Just to say, because I was messaging Eamonn last night, when I saw the picture he put up,’ she said. ‘Obviously everyone was worried about how he is.
‘He said, “Don’t be worrying about visiting me.” He says “I’m not in hospital”, he was at hospital for tests.

‘But of course, we do send him all our love, get well soon Eamonn. We’re thinking of you.’
Eamonn explained he had felt ‘pain like I’ve never experienced in my life’ as he took himself to the hospital.
Alongside a snap of himself in a face mask as he waited to be seen by doctors, he tweeted: ‘At hospital… pain like I’ve never experienced in my life.
‘Need to find out what’s causing this. Wish me well.’
Fans and famous pals, including Dermot O’Leary and Joe Swash, rushed to offer the star their well wishes, urging him to get better soon.
In a string of posts shared in the early hours of this morning, Eamonn added: ‘Will have clearer picture of what’s causing my pain tomorrow but just to say folks like so many of you I’ve lived with variations of Chronic pain for years.
‘Don’t allow it to stop me working & next week I’d like to be a voice for many of u & discuss the subject on @thismorning.
‘In the meantime I am proud that my experience has given you a voice and I’m humbled by your various and different experiences & your kindness to me.
‘If between us we can get more solutions more understanding and more resources directed towards CP then that would be a result.’
Eamonn recently revealed he had turned to physiotherapy in an effort to lessen his chronic pain symptoms.
Sharing a photo of himself lying face down on a physio table, he added wrote: ‘Starting the day by tackling the pain from the night before… On the Physio table. Chronic pain.
‘Just can’t get it to go away.
‘Sadly so many of you know the feeling. Thanks for sharing your stories. I’m determined to beat this… however much it hurts.’
