Eamonn Holmes’ wife wasted no time texting her husband while he was live on GB News to expose his food delivery claims.
Former This Morning presenter Eamonn made his debut on the channel on Monday morning alongside Isabel Webster for the new Breakfast programme and vowed to do things differently in his opening speech.
An hour into the show, Eamonn admitted that he uses the likes of Deliveroo to order his groceries when his partner Ruth Langsford asks him to get some essential items in.
‘She says, “I want a loaf of bread and I want this particular type of bread and I want this, and I want that”,’ Eamonn said.
‘I say, “yeah, yeah, I’ll get it.” Then she goes out of the door and I do the delivery.’
Isabel pointed out: ‘You know you pay through the roof for that? They ramp up the charge.’
But Eamonn wasn’t quite done talking about Ruth, and added: ‘She also objects to me buying any food in garage shops.’
Of course, it wasn’t long before Ruth texted Eamonn to call out him out for his claims.
‘You don’t do the shopping on Deliveroo, you just get treats for you,’ she messaged him – all in capitals.
Isabel then warned Eamonn: ‘You can’t get away with saying that, she’s watching!’
Eamonn kicked off this morning’s show by telling audiences he’s received messages from fans who are looking forward to the show shaking the news up.
‘Hopefully, we are going to do lots of things differently,’ he said.
‘We’re going to do news, but we’re going to do news with views. We’re going to do your news because if it is important to you, it is important to us.’
It was announced in November that Eamonn would be leaving ITV after 15 years hosting This Morning alongside his wife Ruth.
Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel airs weekdays at 6am on GB News.
