Emily Mortimer has raved about Andrew Scott in her new drama The Pursuit of Love, admitting that she ‘has a crush’ on the actor.
Andrew, known for playing ‘hot priest’ in Fleabag, is one of the stars of the new BBC drama directed by Emily in her first project behind the camera.
The Pursuit of Love, based on the 1945 novel by Nancy Mitford of the same name, is set between the two World Wars and stars Lily James, 32, as the wild and adventurous Linda Radlett and Emily Beecham, 36, as her more timid cousin Fanny Logan.
Andrew stars as Lord Merlin in the new show, their charismatic neighbour who appears alongside a group of gender fluid dancers the show and helps set in motion the events of the story.
Emily certainly counts herself among the actor’s fans.
When asked by the Radio Times if she had a crush on Andrew after his role in Fleabag, Emily replied: ‘Doesn’t everybody?’

‘If you were to meet him, you’d fall much more in love with him,’ she added.
The new series filmed from July to October of last year, with the three-part drama set to take over from Line of Duty at 9pm next Sunday.

As well as making her directorial debut with The Pursuit of Love, Emily also stars as The Bolter in the show. The 49-year-old is known for her roles in Mary Poppins Returns, Relic, Shutter Island and Lars and the Real Girl.
The series also stars Dominic West, who was alleged to be having an affair with co-star Lily after paparazzi shots caught them enjoying what appeared to be a romantic weekend together in Rome.
The Pursuit of Love begins on May 9 at 9pm on BBC One, with all three episodes dropping on iPlayer afterwards.
