The Eurovision Semi-Finals have finally begun! However, viewers are already perplexed about whose voice they are hearing.
Julia Sanina, a Ukrainian singer, songwriter, and Hardkiss band frontwoman, has joined Alesha Dixon, Graham Norton, and Hannah Waddingham on the show.
Meanwhile, people at home are hearing Scott Mills and Rylan Clark’s voices, but as the opening title rolled, another familiar voice was heard on stage.
Some people thought it was a Spice Girl.
‘Mel C’s disembodied voice like a Scouse God,’ one person took to social media to write.
Another penned: ‘You know you’ve made it when Mel C is announcing you.’
‘Omg Mel C’s iconic voice,’ someone else wrote.
Others, however, were sceptical, with numerous people questioning, ‘Is that Mel C?’
While it is yet to be confirmed whether it is Sporty Spice or not, the official presenters have been unveiled.
As the Eurovision Correspondent, Ukrainian broadcaster Timur Miroshnychenko will appear throughout the events and provide analysis from Ukraine’s box direct from Liverpool.
The 37-year-old TV broadcaster, who went viral last year after providing Eurovision commentary for Ukraine while broadcasting live from a bunker, co-hosted the Opening Ceremony with Liverpudlian Sam Quek.
Meanwhile, Mel Giedroyc joins Rylan and Scott and will provide live commentary from the box for the Grand Final.
In addition to hosting, Graham will take turns in the commentary box alongside comic Mel, so that those watching from home can hear his comments on the performances as they have in previous years.
The Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals are on May 9 and 11 on BBC One at 8pm. The grand final is on Saturday May 13 on BBC One at 8pm.
