The Terminal List is based on the best-selling novel by Jack Carr. It follows James Reece (Chris Pratt) after his entire platoon of Navy Seals is ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission.

Reece returns home to his family with conflicting memories of the event and questions about his culpability. However, as new evidence comes to light, Reece discovers dark forces working against him, endangering not only his life, but the lives of those he loves.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, showrunner David DiGilio explained that the television adaptation is a different take on the original material.

‘For us, we knew that military authenticity, this incredible story of vengeance and accountability, and James Reece as probably the most authentic character of the warrior class we’ve seen in a thriller, we knew those things we had to maintain,’ he told us.

‘But then everything else, we could heighten or dive deeper into things, like what’s happening in Reece’s head.’

He continued: ‘That combination would not only make for a great show, but someone who’s a book fan can watch and go “I recognise that scene, wow they did that differently!” and so the show becomes surprising both to new fans and to old fans.’

Who is in the cast for The Terminal List?

In addition to Pratt, the series stars Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Riley Keough, Arlo Mertz, and Jai Courtney.

Wu takes on the role of Katie Buranek, a risk-seeking war correspondent who uses her byline to speak truth to power. Katie left her desk at a prestigious news outlet to pursue high-impact stories on her own terms.

Now at a crossroads in her career, she finds an unlikely ally in rogue Navy Seal James Reece.

She seeks to re-enter the mainstream by bringing the truth about Reece and the conspiracy he’s fighting against to light.
