Viewers have lambasted Netflix, saying they have no interest to watch a forthcoming series on the world’s most renowned porn performer.
This Monday, the streaming service published the trailer for Supersex, which is based on the true story of Rocco Siffredi.
Siffredi, 59, aka the Italian Stallion, has appeared in almost 1,300 pornographic films since 1986.
The show’s official synopsis states that it would cover the ‘family, beginnings, and connection with love’ of Rocco Tano, an ordinary guy from Ortona who rises to become the world’s most renowned porn actor.
Although the teaser did not include many sexy moments, it nonetheless enraged people.
‘I’m not sure I like the direction Netflix is going. Unlike Rocco, I can’t get behind this,’ user jopo7996 commented on YouTube.
‘You know, Netflix turned into a hardcore sex channel so gradually, I didn’t even notice,’ Dr Lynch2009 wrote.
Meanwhile, user superfizzyjuice said it was a ‘hard pass’.
Their sentiments were echoed by many others.
Siffredi is known for his rough style of pornography.
In 2004, he said that he would stop participating in pornography for the sake of his children and instead focus on directing and producing.
However, he returned to performing in 2009, but quit six years later.
Alessandro Borghi plays the hero in the Netflix series, while Jasmine Trinca plays Lucia, a fictitious female figure ‘who symbolises a synthesis of most women with whom Rocco had a connection throughout his life’.
Alessandro recently said that he recorded 50 sex scenes in 95 days while filming the seven-episode series.
The outrage comes after Netflix users were shocked by the explicit nudity in the recent series Obliterated.
The American action dramedy split critics and fans, with one claiming the ‘full-frontal nudity was insane’.
Another called it ‘hella filthy’ but thought the nudity was ‘pointless’.
Supersex is streaming on Netflix from March 6.
