Fans lose it over Gino D’Acampo humping tree on Finland trip as they ‘belly laugh’ over new show

Fans tuning in to Gordon, Gino and Fred: Desperately Seeking Santa on ITV on Wednesday night got a lot more than they bargained for, after seeing Gino D’Campo, ahem, hump a tree.

In the new series, celebrity chefs Gino and Gordon Ramsay are joined by First Dates host Fred Sirieix as they head out on the ultimate boys trip to find Santa.

The trio made their way across Finland, throwing themselves into the local culture as they tried their hand at cooking on open fires, herding reindeers and playing a game of ‘guess the sausage’ while hanging out naked in a sauna together.

But, one scene that viewers couldn’t quite get over was Gino taking tree-hugging to the extreme.

When he wasn’t stripping down to his mankini to take a plunge in an ice pool, Gino arranged for himself, Gordon and Fred to take part in a tree-hugging experience.

Gordon outright declined to hug a tree, with Gino dragging his pal over to the lonely looking bark, while Fred seemed pretty thrilled with his embrace and Gino, well, Gino was typical Gino and threw everything he had at his trunk.

So much so, that he not only wrapped his arms around the tree, but he started to grind and hump it too.

As the group’s guide told Gino his ‘technique sucked’ viewers were left cracking up at their TV screens at home, flocking to Twitter to comment on the unexpected x-rated moment.

‘Oh God, Gino humping that poor unsuspecting tree,’ one viewer posted, while another couldn’t resist joking: ‘Wonder who had the most wood? @Ginofantastico or the tree.’

One fan said: ‘#GordonGinoandFred wow. nearly getting censored for a little extreme tree-hugging…’

‘[Highlight] of 2020 – seeing @Ginofantastico humping a tree,’ tweeted another viewer.

‘Somehow, you just knew Gino’s tree hugging would go too far!’ wrote one fan, as others hailed the episode as the ‘best moment of 2020’ and praised it for making them ‘belly laugh’ all the way through.

Gino took it upon himself to provide the laughs throughout the show – comparing Gordon’s nipples to ‘Brussel sprouts’ as the boys discussed their physiques and providing Gordon and Fred with all important ‘willy warmers’ as they camped out to catch the Northern Lights.

Gordon, Gino and Fred: Desperately Seeking Santa was a festive special following on from the trio’s Road Trip series that first debuted in 2018.

It sees the three celebrities head out on the road, with season two taking Gordon, Gino and Fred on a month-long trip around America.

Gordon, Gino and Fred: Desperately Seeking Santa is available to watch via catch up on the ITV hub.
