Blue Bloods, a police procedural starring Friends actor Tom Selleck, has been cancelled after 14 seasons, and fans are outraged.
The drama, which debuted on CBS in 2010, will conclude with a two-part 14th and final season, which will begin in February and conclude in September of next year.
But viewers of the show are livid it has been given the chop with one raging on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘What? Explain yourself. You can’t end this series. I expect this to go on until Jamie takes the PC role in 20 or 30 years.’
‘Why does it have to be the final season?? This is heartbreaking news,’ another lamented, while a third cried: ‘OH NO!! Final season!? Please no. It’s one of the last good shows on television.’
Tom, 78, plays New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the blockbuster series, which follows members of his family, all of whom work in law enforcement, as they battle crime.
The Magnum PI actor took on the job more than a decade after initially appearing in Friends as Monica Geller’s (Courteney Cox) lover Dr Richard Burke.
