A first look at Fleabag star Sian Clifford in her new romantic comedy Good Grief has been revealed, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most interesting projects of 2021.
The actress leads the cast of the new venture, which is a mix between theatre and TV.
The ‘theatrical format’ will stream online from February, with viewers buying tickets to support members of the creative industries.
A first look clip featuring Sian has been revealed, which sees her urge fans to buy a ticket and call it ‘innovative and bold and beautiful and heartbreaking and made by a majestic team of creatives.’
Speaking about Good Grief, the actress said: ‘It’s neither film nor theatre, it’s a hybrid that’s why it’s so thrilling to be part of it, something that is so innovative and has been born entirely of this chaos.
‘It’s really thrilling, a bit of a brain maze, structured around the stages of grief. I always said it would take a lot to get me back on stage, but the play blew me away, I absolutely tore through it, it made me weep.’
She added: ‘I loved the idea of doing something radical and helping save our industry and to keep people engaged with the arts.’
Sian stars alongside Artemis Fowl actor Nikesh Patel. The project sees her follow on from Sian’s roles in Quiz and Two Weeks To Live earlier this year.
There’s another Fleabag connection too. The score and sound design comes from composer Isobel Waller-Bridge, who is the sister of star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and also provided the score for the hit comedy.
Good Grief is written by Lorien Hayes and directed by Natalie Abrahami.
Tickets for Good Grief are available here for £29. The price will increase to £39 from Christmas Day onwards. Good Grief will be available to watch from February 15 until April 15.
