Frankie Bridge deeply missed her family when she was in the castle for this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and we’re sure they missed her too – although they had a funny way of showing it.
The Saturdays star came in third in the 2021 series, missing out on the crown to Danny Miller, meaning she, Danny and Simon Gregson spent the longest time away from their loved ones.
Still, Frankie admits she’s ‘still afraid of ketchup’ and her time in Gwrych Castle hasn’t made her any braver, despite the fact she was rained on by bugs and trapped in a glass box full of snakes.
There were also more than a few gross-out moments, like when she drank fermented eggs and pig anus, and begged ITV bosses to wash her underwear as they ‘stank of fish guts’.
Now Frankie has revealed that her young son was more than aware of all the disgusting things she had to do on the show, and wasn’t willing to let her back into the house until he was sure she was clean.
Appearing on Friday’s Loose Women, the star admitted: ‘My son did ask me how many times I’ve washed, because he wanted to be sure I was clean enough to be home!’
While Kaye suggested it could be something to do with the threat of Covid, it seems more likely the youngster wanted to be sure she no longer smelled like fish guts, and honestly, fair.
Frankie, who shares son Parker, eight, and Carter, six, with husband Wayne Bridge, admitted there were difficult times in the castle, but said: ‘You have to [do it].
‘It’s what I signed up for and you don’t want to let your camp mates down.’
After Frankie was confirmed to have washed enough to come home, she shared her sweet reunion with Parker and Carter with fans on Instagram.
In her first post since returning home, the star was seen posing with both sons on either side of her as they cuddled up on the couch.
She also revealed that her sons missed her so much when she was in the castle that they begged their football star father not to vote for Frankie so she would get booted out of the castle and have to come home early.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, the pop star said: ‘Wayne told me that they asked him not to vote so I would come home earlier.’
She added: ‘They didn’t really say anything as I walked in, they just jumped on me.
‘The boys came into bed with me and Parker would keep touching me to make sure I was there.’
Loose Women airs on ITV and ITV Hub on weekdays from 12.30pm.
