Maisie Williams, a Game of Thrones star, looked far removed from her childhood role of Arya Stark as she celebrated her 27th birthday.
The actress, who debuted in the HBO series in 2011, went all out for a 70s disco-themed party, sharing photos of herself having a good time.
‘In honour of turning 27, i hosted a 70s disco themed party. and it was the best night of my life (so far),’ she wrote.
Maisie had swapped her cropped hair for long locks, resembling Cher as she posed in a sequined silver gown with a feathered crown.
In addition to showing off her stunning outfit, she shared photos of the decor and her party food, which appeared to include jellied peas.
And while it’s been more than a decade since she starred as Arya, the Sex Pistols actress had fans reciting her infamous line in the comments, ‘A girl has no name,’ transformed by many into ‘A girl is 27.’
‘Happy birthday from the USA! Wow 26, how time flies!’ fan romanov1918 wrote.
‘My mind cannot comprehend that you are 27,’ @_.mallym._ said.
’27 Now? I feel so old!’ @hambi_bambi added.
Others were more fixated on the peas dish, with @lou.acuzar writing: ‘Are those green peas in jell-o?!’
Her birthday celebrations come after Maisie opened up about the’really hard’ challenge she faced in her career after rising to fame, having begun starring in her iconic role at the age of 12.
Speaking ahead of her latest role in Apple TV series The New Look, in which she plays Catherine Dior, the sister of legendary fashion designer Christian Dior, Maisie said: ‘But the most amazing thing was that Todd [Kessler, The New Look’s creator] had never seen a single episode [of GoT], so he just got to meet me as a 24-year-old woman and see a character like Catherine within me without having this tarnished view of me being kind of a scruffy boy.’
She explained to the publication how her meteoric rise to superstardom, her role in one of the most popular TV shows of all time, and growing up in the public eye caused her to lose her identity.
She explained: ‘I was so lost for so long and I knew that I was, and when I couldn’t pin down what I felt my identity was within that, it brought me a lot of discomfort.
‘Now I feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. It’s hard to even put myself back there and talk about how tough it was just because I think it’s done.’
Maisie previously said she ‘resented’ playing Arya while going through puberty in an interview with British GQ Style’s Spring Summer 2022 issue.
‘I think that when I started becoming a woman, I resented Arya because I couldn’t express who I was becoming, and then I also resented my body, because I wasn’t aligned with the piece of me that the world celebrated,’ she revealed.
Game of Thrones is available to watch on Sky in the UK.
