The GB News show Headliners has received 151 Ofcom complaints when guest Lewis Schaffer stated that “Covid wasn’t a thing.”
Since its introduction in June 2021, the channel has been the subject of various issues, and as of March 2023, 1,655 complaints about the epidemic have been filed with regulator Ofcom.
Headliners, the ‘paper review that won’t put you to sleep’ with a ‘all-star comedic ensemble,’ has now amassed a total of 151.
During the June 18 show, American broadcaster and comedian Schaffer created many games regarding the epidemic.
He was discussing a story about the Partygate tape when he stated, ‘This is a complete non-story because everybody knows, and all of these individuals knew, that Covid wasn’t a thing.’
When interrupted and told that Covid did exist, Shaffer said, ‘No, you can’t claim it exists.’
He went on to explain that individuals couldn’t work because they had been ‘told’ about Covid, and that it ‘wasn’t a thing,’ calling it a ‘excuse’.

‘People knew if Covid was a major thing, I guarantee you, people would say, listen maybe we shouldn’t have a party, but everyone of these people said, let’s get close to each other.’
This follows news that GB News is considering airing less discussion of conspiracy theories after Ofcom determined that a previous broadcast violated its rules.
In May, the regulator confirmed that the station had violated broadcasting regulations by making statements regarding the Covid-19 vaccination on Mark Steyn’s show.
Dr Naomi Wolf, a guest on the show at the time, stated the vaccination distribution was a pre-planned crime and used the phrase “mass murder.”
She also claimed the rollout was comparable to the actions of ‘doctors in pre-Nazi Germany’.
Ofcom stated that it received 422 complaints alleging that these statements were “dangerous” and contained “misinformation” that went “unopposed.”
Following the ordeal, an insider told inews: ‘There are less crazy conspiracy theories late at night. GB News made a £30m loss last year, the channel is run on a tight budget and it can’t afford to be fined.’
