GB News was plagued by further technical issues during the launch of The Great British Breakfast and viewers found it hard to ignore.

Andrew Neil’s news channel launched on Sunday night with a special programme starring himself, followed by Dan Wootton’s nightly episode.

Monday morning then saw the launch of The Great British Breakfast, hailed by many as an alternative to ITV’s Good Morning Britain, featuring presenters Kirsty Gallacher, Nana Akua and Darren McCaffrey.

However, it wasn’t without hiccups as a few minutes into TGBB’s launch show, the studio switched to a regional reporter whose sound cut out seconds later, forcing them to change to another presenter out in the field.

Throughout the first half hour, viewers complained about the poor sound quality with many of the studio hosts surrounded by an echo.

Kirsty later admitted to a guest presenter: ‘We’re getting used to it.’

Viewers pleaded with GB News producers to fix the technical issues, which also plagued the launch programmes yesterday.

Listing out the teething problems, one viewer tweeted: ‘Sound issues on @gbnews echos, levels, synch and dark studio.’

Another agreed: ‘The sound is awful and the lightning in studio is dreadfully dark.Cmon Andrew we trying to be bright and optimistic.  How the hell you have such darkness in studio!’

‘I so want @GBNEWS to do well, but they’ve got to get those sound issues and links sorted out,’ one said.

‘Sound quality is really poor . Makes it hard to watch,’ another said.

However, others were more understanding of the technical difficulties, with one supporter weighing in: ‘People are being far too quick to judge #GBNews. A few glitches need to be ironed out and a few tweaks made here and there – but it’s a really interesting concept and I feel the #UK #news landscape needs shaking and ultimately there is an off switch if you don’t like it.’

Another agreed: ‘A few sound issues to resolve, but it already makes a pleasant change from #GMB.’

‘A few sound issues with the local reporters but  great to see a new player in the market. The existing formats were starting to look a bit tired. Good luck all!’ one viewer added.

The Great British Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on GB News.
