Geordie Shore to ‘shoot new series in Colombia’ after coronavirus shuts down Newcastle clubs

Geordie Shore is reportedly set to shoot its new series in Colombia, due to coronavirus shutting Newcastle clubs and making the show unworkable.

With nightlife in the UK greatly affected by the pandemic, the gang could instead be heading to sunny South America for the upcoming series.

As the Sun reports, the MTV show will be upping sticks and changing locations entirely for the new series in 2021.

Colombia’s nightlife is reportedly less affected by the pandemic, and it seems like stars of the show are heading for quite an upgrade on their usual surroundings.

A source said: ‘MTV has pretty much invited back all Geordie Shore’s cast, past and present, for a huge special next year out in Colombia.

‘Hanging out on a paradise isle with cocktails a-plenty couldn’t be a more dramatically different backdrop for the cast than their usual haunts.’

They added: ‘But it’s just what the Geordie Shorers need – and fans want to see – after a year cooped up at home.’

The reality stars could be set for a holiday of a lifetime if they do head to sunnier shores – watch this space.

Geordie Shore has been filmed in Newcastle since it first arrived on screens in 2011. Since then, there have been 21 series of the reality show, which follows a group of party-loving housemates as they move in together.

The most recent series features fan favourites Chloe Ferry, Nathan Henry and James Tindale, as well as new cast members like Amelia Lily, Anthony Kennedy and Louis Shaw.

Nathan, who has been a part of hit MTV reality show for six years, recently called for reality TV to end its ‘heterosexual narrative’.

Geordie Shore will return to MTV in 2021.
