Gloria Estefan has confirmed she turned down an offer to perform at the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show with Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

Chatting to Andy Cohen on his Watch What Happens Live show on Tuesday night, the Cuban American singer was asked about her thoughts over comments made by J-Lo about her memorable stint on Super Bowl with Shakira.

The 64-year-old actually revealed she declined an invite to perform with the two women because she ‘didn’t want to go on a diet in December.’

Gloria – who previously performed the halftime show in 1992, 1995 and 1999 – teased: ‘I’ve done a couple of Super Bowls. I didn’t want to go on a diet in December. It’s Christmas!’

The legendary star also addressed comments made by J-Lo, 52, during her recent documentary Halftime, where she expressed her annoyance over the time constraints at Super Bowl.

The On The Floor singer complained about having to share the stage during the small set, calling it ‘the worst idea in the world.’

‘Look, this is the bottom line. You have very little time, like 12 minutes or something, to get things on and off the set,’ Gloria explained to the host.

‘So, could you do it with one person? Yes, but I think they wanted to throw a Miami and Latin extravaganza, and they tried to pack it as much as possible.’

The star praised the pair and said they ‘killed it’ and that it was an ‘amazing show’.

But she couldn’t resist throwing a little bit of shade in the direction of J-Lo after her recent thoughts on the performance came to light.

In response to her comments, Gloria said: ‘Imagine what J. Lo would’ve said if I would’ve been the third [performer]?

‘I literally would’ve come out, “Come and shake your body,” out.’

The show ran for around 14 minutes, and in her recent documentary, Jennifer bemoaned how the event was organised, arguing they both should’ve been afforded more time.

The Jenny from the Block hitmaker said to Shakira: ‘If it was going to be a double headliner, they should have given us 20 minutes.’
