Gogglebox’s Jenny and Lee have taken to Instagram to share their enthusiasm that the show is returning to Channel 4 on Friday.
Following their co-stars Dave and Shirley Griffiths revealing the new series was returning this week, best friends Jenny Newby, 65, and Lee Riley, 52, shared their excitement with their 656,000 Instagram followers.
Sat on their traditional Gogglebox spot in Lee’s caravan in Hull the pair could barely contain themeselves.
Lee said: ‘Hi everyone! As you know Gogglebox is back next Friday, no this Friday to be fair! What were you going to say Jenny?’
To which she added: ‘I’m so excited, I’m so excited.’
Practically with anticipation, she loudly added: ‘We’re back! Bums on seats! Woo, woo, woo! See you at Friday at 9 o’clock, get the kettles on!’
She then joked to Lee: ‘That’s how you say it, when you’re excited. Not “Hello everyone.”’
The dynamic duo joined the fourth series of Gogglebox in 2014, having been friends for two decades.
They became inseparable after meeting in Jenny’s pub, where Lee was a regular.
Since then, they’ve been on holiday together and even isolated in Lee’s caravan together during the first lockdown.
Although fans are still awaiting the line-up, they can confidently assume regular faces such as Sophie and Pete, Giles and Mary, Daniel and Stephen, Amira and Iqra, and the Siddiqui family will return, as well as some new families following a Gogglebox announcement that they were seeking some Scottish cast members.
Gogglebox star Stephen Webb, who has been on the show since 2013, will unfortunately not be joining in the first episode, having tested positive for Covid and isolating from his partner Daniel.
Gogglebox returns on Channel 4 at 9pm on Friday, February 18.
