Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford has put on his big brother hat to give his sister Sophie Sandiford some sweet dating advice, suggesting that she avoid going after a ‘unicorn’.

In February this year, it was announced that Pete had become engaged to his partner Paige Yeomans, with it emerging a couple of months later that the couple are also expecting a baby.

On the latest episode of Channel 4’s Gogglebox, Pete chatted to his sibling about how it’s preferable to stay in rather than go out and enjoy a ‘cheeky hot chocolate’ while saving money.

However, Sophie pointed out that he’s ‘wifed up’, whereas she’s ‘still on the frickin’ meat market’ which is why she feels she needs ‘to be out schmoozing’.

At this point, Pete chimed in to give his two cents on the kind of guy he thinks Sophie should be going after.

He said: ‘Yeah, but you’re after what I like to call a unicorn. You’re not gonna find a unicorn. You need…’, before Sophie interjected to say: ‘A stallion.’

‘No. You want an all-rounder. You want a Swiss army fella. Not somebody who’s good at one thing but not at another,’ Pete remarked.

‘How am I going to find someone who’s in the Swiss army?’ Sophie asked, befuddled.

Pete then explained that he was referring to a Swiss army knife, which ‘does everything’.

Last month, Pete left Gogglebox viewers absolutely aghast as he revealed the state of his pants on the show, which were full of holes.

‘Why?! Why have they got so many holes in?!’ Sophie screamed, with Pete replying: ‘I daren’t part with them – I’ve had them since I was 15!’

One horrified viewer tweeted: ‘Jesus Christ @Petesandiford wearing Swiss cheese as underpants #gogglebox.’

‘They’re holier than the Pope, those, Pete! Get ’em binned, man! #Gogglebox,’ another said.

Pete and Sophie have been on Gogglebox since 2017, having joined during the 10th season.

The show has been going since 2013, with cast members Stephen Webb and the Siddiqui family being a part of it from the very beginning.

Gogglebox returns next Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
